Management Team

  Loren Nasser

Loren Nasser
President & CEO

Mr. Nasser, together with Dr. Robert Tryon and Dr. Animesh Dey, started VEXTEC in early 2000. Since its founding, the company has averaged 30 to 50% annual revenue growth and has been profitable every year. As president and CEO, Loren is leading VEXTEC’s transition from research, development and consulting, to an international managed services provider to Fortune 500 companies.

Prior to Vextec, Mr. Nasser was a stockholder and held various management and engineering positions within the privately-held Sverdrup Corporation (now Jacobs Engineering Corporation). Sverdrup was listed as one of the top 10 engineering and construction management companies world-wide. Loren started with Sverdrup as a rocket propulsion scientist within the US government nuclear weapons development program. He later served in various business development and management positions during his 17 years with Sverdrup. Prior to Jacobs’ acquisition of Sverdrup, Mr. Nasser had become part of a strategic Federal government business development task force at the headquarters level. In that role, Loren initiated strategic teaming initiatives, and identified, pursued and obtained Federal government contracts exceeding $300 million.

Loren received his undergraduate engineering degree at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 1982 and his Masters in Science at the University of Tennessee in 1988.

Robert G. Tryon, PhD

Robert G. Tryon, PhD
Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Tryon has established a world-wide reputation in engineering fatigue analysis and computational material science. In addition to being a VEXTEC co-founder, he is the inventor of VEXTEC’s patented probabilistic, microstructural simulation approach. His research initiated the Federal government’s grant funding of VEXTEC at just under $12 million since the company’s inception. His research has been reviewed by scientific fellows within Air Force, Navy, Army, DARPA, NASA and research institutes throughout the world.

Bob began his professional career at Ford Aerospace as an electronic systems test engineer within a $1 billion+ military development program. After leaving Ford, he became part of the GM turbine engine development team in Indianapolis and while there, he became a turbine engine component design and lifing specialist. Recognizing that probabilistic engineering analysis was the wave of the future, GM leadership asked Bob to pursue his PhD in that area under GM’s sponsorship. He studied under Dr. Thomas Cruse (now Chief Scientist at the Air Force Research Laboratory) and obtained research fellowships from NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and NASA Lewis (Glenn) Research Center. Just has he finished his work at Vanderbilt, GM sold the turbine engine division to Rolls Royce, at which time Dr. Tryon decided to leave GM and pursue a career as an independent consultant.

In addition to obtaining his PhD in 1996, Dr. Tryon received his undergraduate and masters engineering degrees from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He has published over 30 papers, including articles in accepted engineering journal publications. Additionally, he holds 2 patents and is co-author on 6 pending patents.

Animesh Dey, PhD

Animesh Dey, PhDChief Product Development Officer

Dr. Dey, also a VEXTEC co-founder, has the responsibility for translating advanced engineering algorithms into operational software. Shortly after starting VEXTEC, he developed specialty reliability software for DaimlerChrylser that now has over 400 trained users. That software has been proven accurate, matching its results against worldwide dealer warranty claims over the past four years. The software has also enabled DaimlerChrysler to reduce integrated product testing by more than 20%.

Animesh has designed software architectures and developed software under Air Force, Navy, Army, NASA and DARPA programs, and has participated in software reviews for United Technologies Corporation. He has published more than 12 technical papers including articles in accepted engineering trade journals. He is co-inventor on 2 patents and on 3 pending patents.

Dr. Dey obtained his masters and PhD in structural engineering from Vanderbilt University. He received his undergraduate degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in 1991.
